González Razor-Sharp, Shuts Out Stamford Tuesday, August 17th , 1915 José González of the Griswold Vampires shut out the Stamford Locksmiths, 12-0, at The Key Party, holding them to 2 hits with 2 walks and 4 strikeouts. Pressed for comments on his club's defeat, Stamford skipper Sílvano Salguero called the outing from González "a jewel." "The way González was pitching, it would have been tough for anyone to beat him," he said. So far this season, González has logged a 12-16 record with a 3.64 ERA.
