Skipper Theodore Conover Dismissed in Rutland Wednesday, July 22nd , 1914 Theodore Conover had actually diagnosed the problem himself just weeks ago. After a particularly bad stretch of games earlier in the season he said, "The team just needs to change the way it's operating." He probably didn't expect his firing to be one of those changes, though. Nevertheless, this is the route the Rutland Quarrymen have decided to take, firing Conover late last night. The Quarrymen have had internal discussions on a potential replacement, but an unnamed source within the front office said that they're taking it one step at a time. The first step seems to have been to remove Conover. |
