Hernández Sparkles in 6-0 Blanking of Rutland Saturday, August 1st , 1914 Luis Hernández hurled nothing but zeros at the Rutland Quarrymen in an impressive outing at The Pit. The Brattleboro pitcher allowed 7 hits, fanned 7, and walked 2 in blanking Rutland, 6-0. "There were a lot of frustrated guys walking back to the dugout," Rutland manager said. "Not a fun day." Hernández has made 30 starts, tossed 270.1 innings, struck out 227 batters and walked 65. His record is 21-6 with a 2.50 ERA and he has limited other teams to a .230 batting average.
