Burlington Advances to Championship of New England Saturday, September 5th , 1914 Burlington Lightermen fans are rejoicing after a 11-0 win at The Dock has propelled the club to a 4-2 Pennant Championship Series victory over the Auburn Cordwainers. With the win, the club advanced on to the Championship of New England. "Total team effort, that's the only way we get it done in this one," said Burlington second baseman Stéphane Perez, who was named series MVP. The Burlington Lightermen don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Winchendon Rocking Horses - Griswold Vampires series.
