Martínez Blanks Brats, 3-0 Friday, August 21st , 1914 José Martínez shut out the Sheboygan Brats, 3-0, on a 6-hit masterpiece for the Traverse City Amarelles at The Grill. "He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Traverse City skipper Delfín Silva said afterward. Martínez registered no strikeouts and issued 1 walk in pitching a gem. "We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said Sheboygan manager Espártaco García after the defeat. So far this year, Martínez has 12 wins and 14 losses and a 5.48 ERA.
