McCormick Goes 5-for-6 Against Meadville Wednesday, September 2nd , 1914 No matter what the Meadville Zips threw at him, Moose McCormick hit it. He easily handled Zips pitching, going 5 for 6 and helping the Rose Stockings triumph, 14-3, at XYZ Stadium. "The way I was swinging, I think I could have closed my eyes and hit the ball," he told BNN reporters in the postgame interview. Told of McCormick's quip, Zips skipper Ken Roy said he "would take him up on that next time." Moose McCormick hit a solo-shot off Mamerto Hernández in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Mamerto Hernández in the 5th, struck out in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Ajani Adams in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
