Stone Skippers Vargas Hanging up His Spikes Saturday, September 19th , 1914 Plutarco Vargas said he would rather walk away from the game than be forced out of it. At 36 years of age, the Mackinac Island Stone Skippers left fielder today announced that this season will be his last. "I'm happy to get out with my health still intact and at a young enough age where I can look forward to the rest of my life," Vargas said. |
