Duluth Takes Pennant Series Sunday, October 4th , 1914 The Duluth Zeniths triumphed 4-1 over the Grand Marais Voyageurs at Ballpark by the Marsh in the Pennant Series to capture it 4-1. The victory advanced the Zeniths to the Championship of the Great Lakes. For his superb play in the series, Zeniths center fielder Vidal López garnered the series MVP trophy, hitting .571, scoring 5 runs and batting in 6. "Only thing better than getting MVP for winning in the playoffs would be winning MVP for winning in the Championship of the Great Lakes," López said later. "I'll get to work on that." The Duluth Zeniths don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Erie Commodores - London Regulars series. London leads the series 2 games to 1.
