Cabo Rojo Wins Campeonato de las Ligas Saturday, October 3rd , 1914 It went the distance, but the Cabo Rojo Maravillosos finally disposed of the Manati Hoplitas 6-1 in the series clincher at Parquecito de ManatÃ. Winning the finale gave the Maravillosos the series, 3-2. They will now advance to the Campeonato Veraniego de Principiantes. The Most Valuable Player Award went to Cabo Rojo first baseman Faustino MartÃnez. He batted .368 in the series, collecting 4 RBIs and scoring 6 runs. "Faustino deserves it," said Maravillosos manager John Riddle. "He was the glue that held our club together." The Cabo Rojo Maravillosos don't know who they will face in the next round.
