Arribenos Win Again, Streak Now at 10
|
In the 7-3 Utuado win over Fajardo, the impact of Jaime de Jesús was substantial. de Jesús, who led the LH in RBI with 138 last year, went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Eulalio Castillo, who is tied for 9th in the LH in wins with 5, was the winning pitcher. Over 5.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 2 strikeouts. Anatolio Castellanos was credited with the save for Utuado, his 1st of the season.
de Jesús contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Utuado in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 3-0, de Jesús took a slider from Rory Beveridge and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Arribenos to leap in front, 4-3.
