Preachers Clip Werewolves, 6-5, in IDS Contest
A strong performance from pitcher Miguel González was not enough for the Los Lunas Werewolves, who were stopped by the visiting Abilene Preachers, 6-5, in Game 3 of the Interdivisional Series. The Preachers never truly figured out the right-handed González, who threw 7.2 innings of 5-hit ball. Still, the Preachers now hold a 2-1 in the best-of-5 series.

The game was at a stalemate until pinch hitter Dylan Howard came to bat in the bottom of the eighth. Facing Los Lunas pitcher Raúl Martínez, he hit a 0-1 fastball for a run-scoring single. It was a game-changer, putting Abilene on top, 6-5.

"I try to take on every game as if it is the most important of the season, so I don't feel like anything's different now," Howard said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Abilene Grounds in Abilene.
