Fans brought energy and enthusiasm to the Rio Grande Cotorras home opener. Ezequiel Vásquez started for the home team against Nicolás Luna for the Juncos Valencianos. The Cotorras were unable to reward the home crowd with a win. The final score was 2-1, Juncos. Ezequiel Vásquez, though, was impressive. Cayetano Rodríguez closed the game out for Juncos, earning his 1st save.
Edelmiro Solorio had a direct impact on the outcome. Solorio contributed a run-scoring ground out in the top of the third inning to put Juncos up, 2-1.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Solorio told the Juncos Gazette.
