The Aguas Buenas Mulos got a sterling performance from pitcher Ignacio Lozano, but the Maricao Cafeteros still prevailed, 4-2. Lozano threw 6.0 innings of 3-hit ball. Feliciano Marín was the winner. He's now 21-8. The loser was 32-year old left-handed pitcher Ignacio Lozano. Galeno Henríquez locked down his 13th save.
Normando Treviño drew 1 walk in his only trip to the plate for Maricao. With no one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Treviño had a clutch at-bat. Facing Aguas Buenas hurler Francisco Peña, he drew a walk, driving in 1 run to give the Cafeteros a 1-0 lead.
"When their pitchers are leaving stuff over the heart of the plate, we're not missing it," said Maricao manager Everardo Díaz.
Maricao, now 82-61, holds down first place in the Liga Betances Cordillera Oeste.
