The San Sebastian Pepinos topped the Las Piedras Menestrales, 5-4, with first baseman Tom Swyers playing a big role. Swyers went 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Pepinos in the win. The Pepinos raised their record to 73-68.

Swyers delivered in the clutch for San Sebastian. In the bottom of the ninth, he took a 0-1 slider from Las Piedras pitcher Telégono Soto and parked it over the fence. The solo home run won it for San Sebastian.

In postgame comments to the San Sebastian Daily News, Swyers said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
