Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Hormigueros Romeros and Ceiba Picudos.
The Hormigueros Romeros defeated the Ceiba Picudos, 4-3, in Liga Betances action at Estadio Rolando Sandoval. Hormigueros pitcher Orlando Vaca had a standout performance. Vaca got the win, improving to 15-19. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 3 runs.
Sandalio Moreno, who finished 4th in the LH in batting average with .334 last year, had a direct impact on the outcome. Moreno contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put Hormigueros up, 4-3.
"I like the vibe in the clubhouse after a win," said Moreno. "It sure beats the alternative."
Hormigueros currently is in second place in the Liga Betances Suroeste at 74-68.
