The rain did not keep Corozal and Villalba from finishing their game.
The Corozal Mofongueros dealt the Villalba Mercaderes a 5-1 loss at Estadio Hernán Ríos. Duarte Cuéllar was the star on offense. He went 4 for 5 with 2 triples and 2 singles, while scoring 3. Corozal is first in the Liga Hostos Cordillera Este with a record of 88-60.
Corozal first baseman Martín Piñeda contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the fifth. With two down, he hit a slider to right field for a run-scoring single. It was his 184th hit of the season and put the Mofongueros ahead, 2-0.
