Late Rally by Golondrinas Seals 5th Straight Win
|
The San German Golondrinas took on the Vieques Esqueletos at Parque de Vieques.
The San German Golondrinas locked up a win at Parque de Vieques, knocking off the Vieques Esqueletos, 5-3. On the mound for San German was left-hander Ciriaco Bartra. He played a major role in the triumph. Bartra picked up the win for San German, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 3 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 22-14.
Atanasio Banegas's at-bat in the top of the eighth was significant, coming with runners on 2nd and 3rd and the game tied, 3-3. The San German center fielder hit a 2-run single off Marcos Solís to put the Golondrinas up.
"Ciriaco answered the bell," said San German manager Marcial Hernández.
With the victory, the Golondrinas record stands at 84-59.
