Guayama took on Manati in front of a lively crowd.

Guayama Hechiceros starter Mateo Tafoya hurled his team past the Manati Acropolitanos, 3-2. The win was credited to three-time All-Star Vittorio Gambachini in relief. His record improves to 25-5. Gerardo Rodríguez took the loss.

Guayama took a 3-2 lead on Doroteo Baca's 13th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Baca hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Manati pitcher Zoilo Navarro visibly frustrated.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Guayama manager Ramiro Escareóo.

Guayama now owns a record of 77-70.
