The Rio Grande Cotorras finished off the Hatillo Canarios, 7-3. Much of the credit belonged to right fielder Raúl Alzate. Alzate was 2-3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Cotorras. The second-place Cotorras hiked their record to 82-62.

Alzate had an important at-bat with a runner on 2nd in the bottom of the sixth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Cotorras went on to win.

"Good win for us," said Alzate. "We'll strap it on and go after the next one."
