Eager fans turned out for a matchup between the Guayanilla Electricos and Penuelas Guiristas.

The Guayanilla Electricos knocked off the Penuelas Guiristas, 4-2, in Liga Betances action at Parque de los Eléctricos. Guayanilla pitcher and Carolina, Puerto Rico, native José Adame had an outstanding performance. With the win, the Electricos improved to 76-70.

A defensive lapse proved costly in the contest. In the bottom of the seventh, with the game tied, Gelmiro Gallegos was at the plate when Guayanilla scored 1 on an error. The miscue enabled the Electricos to go in front, 3-2.

"I'm just happy to help the team win," Gallegos told the Guayanilla Gazette.
