The Maricao Cafeteros wasted an impressive 9-inning effort from starter Marcelo Moreno, falling, 2-1, to the Arroyo Telegrafistas at Estadio Municipal de Arroyo. The Telegrafistas go to 73-77, putting them second in the Liga Betances Sureste.

The decisive blow was delivered by Ramón Medina in the bottom of the 12th when he hit a run-scoring double off 34-year old left-handed pitcher Galeno Henríquez to win the game for Arroyo. The home crowd went nuts.

Medina called the win a testament to his team's "grit."
