Before the game, Ambiórix Márquez said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at Estadio Municipal Alfonso Santibáñez, the Lecheros pitcher blanked the Guanica Amigos, 1-0.

"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Márquez said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my slider even when I was behind in the count."

The Bayamon starter held Guanica scoreless, giving up 8 hits while registering 5 strikeouts and issuing no walks.

"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Amigos manager Aldo Martín said in a postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."

To date this season, Márquez is 10-19 with 39 starts and an ERA of 3.16 with 93 strikeouts in 301.2 innings.
