|
Alfonso Luján, who finished 5th in the LH in wins with 28 in 1906, was locked in. The right-hander led the Gurabo Tainos to a 7-4 win against the San Sebastian Pepinos at Coliseo Municipal de Gurabo. The winner was Luján. He threw 8.0 innings allowing 4 runs. The loser was Hansel Macías. Pedro Garza recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 7 for 7.
In the bottom of the fifth, Gurabo third baseman Paddy Grout had a productive at-bat. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and one out, Grout stroked a 2-run single to right. It made the score 7-4, Gurabo. For the game, he went 1-4. He drove in 2 runs.
"I was able to fill up the zone," said Luján.
Gurabo is now 87-62, 26½ games up in the Liga Hostos Valle del Turabo.
