In a low-scoring contest between the Las Marias Citricos and the Canovanas Chupacabras, 31-year old right-handed pitcher Eduino Rizo proved to be the difference. The Las Marias right-hander earned props for his performance in the 2-0 Citricos win. Rizo yielded no runs over 7.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 6 hits, walked 4, and struck out 4. His record improves to 17-13. The first-place Citricos improved to 87-62.
One critical moment came with no one down in the bottom of the ninth. With the bases empty and the Chupacabras trailing 2-0, Leví Esparza retired Livio Rivera with a good fastball. Rivera grounded out.
