Coquis Lose to Corsarios in Walk-Off
|
Quebradillas pitcher Alberto Garfias had a large part in his team beating the Caguas Coquis, 4-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The third-place Corsarios have won 4 consecutive games.
In the bottom of the ninth, with one out and the game tied, 3-3, 25-year old second baseman Vicente Martínez won it for Quebradillas. With the bases loaded, Martínez hit a 2-2 fastball from Ricardo Chávez for a run-scoring single, giving his team the 4-3 win.
"For the most part, I felt like I did a pretty good job with executing the pitches I was throwing," said Garfias.
