Two of the league's best teams met for a late-season clash.

The Las Marias Citricos knocked off the Rio Grande Cotorras, 6-0, in Liga Betances action at El Naranjal. Las Marias pitcher and Dublin, Ireland, native Ross Taylor had an outstanding performance. Taylor picked up the win for Las Marias, going 6.2 innings. He gave up no runs on 1 hits. He now sports a record of 17-8.

The Citricos benefited from a costly error in the bottom of the sixth. With Demetrio Alcaraz at bat and Las Marias leading 1-0, the Rio Grande miscue allowed Las Marias to plate 1 and take the lead, 2-0.

"It's nice to step up when your team needs you," said Alcaraz.

The Citricos improved to 89-62.
