5 Straight Wins for Corsarios
|
Quebradillas and Caguas took Mother Nature's best shot and still managed to complete their ballgame.
The Quebradillas Corsarios topped the Caguas Coquis, 3-2, in Liga Hostos action at Campo de los Corsarios. The standout performance belonged to Quebradillas pitcher and Guadalupe, Mexico, native Tiberio Torres. Torres picked up the win for Quebradillas, going 7.2 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 14-13. Boanerges Murillo closed it out for his 18th save.
Cecilio García supported the Quebradillas cause with no one out in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with the bases loaded and Quebradillas leading 2-1, he hit a sacrifice fly.
"We just didn't score enough runs to win," said Caguas manager Frank Achbar.
Quebradillas's record now stands at 62-88, placing them third in the Liga Hostos Noroeste.
