For the home crowd, it was a thrilling walk-off win.

The Penuelas Guiristas defeated the Patillas Cuervos, 8-7, in 10 innings at Coliseo Armando Vargas. Ernesto Hernández pulled his weight. The 11-year veteran went 5 for 5 with a home run, 2 triples, a double, and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. Ángel Méndez picked up the win in relief. His record improves to 6-3. Rubén Meza suffered the loss.

Hernández dealt the big blow in the bottom of the tenth. That's when he launched a solo home run off Patillas pitcher Rubén Meza to win it for the Guiristas.

"It's what good teams do, find a way to win," said Hernández.

The first-place Guiristas now have a win-loss record of 82-73.
