Cabo Rojo took on Salinas in front of a lively crowd.

Cabo Rojo starter Alberto Lozano pitched effectively against the Salinas Pescadores at Coliseo Carlos Chávez. The left-hander led his team to a win, 6-1. Lozano got the win, improving to 16-18. He gave up 4 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Had Oscar Martínez not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Martínez hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Combatientes.

"Alberto's stuff looked really, really crisp," said Dick Hunt, the Combatientes manager.

Today's win puts Cabo Rojo at 73-78, while Salinas falls to 87-64.
