The Naranjito Brillantes got a superb performance from pitcher Armando Gutiérrez. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Trujillo Alto. The Macabeos won the game, 1-0. Gutiérrez threw 8.2 innings of 6-hit ball. Pedro Real snagged the win in relief. He goes to 5-4 on the season. Armando Gutiérrez suffered the loss. The Macabeos raised their record to 77-78.
Serapión Figueras, who leads the LH in extra base hits with 59, had a direct impact on the outcome. Figueras contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put Trujillo Alto up, 1-0.
