Sanisalvos Raise Rally Flag, Beat Juncos, 6-4
|
The Morovis Sanisalvos knocked off the Juncos Valencianos, 6-4, in Liga Betances action at Coliseo de los Valencianos. Morovis pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Abdías Cervantes had an outstanding performance. Cervantes yielded 4 runs over 9 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 1. His record improves to 12-20. The win makes Morovis 66-90.
Morovis relied on the hitting of Ricardo Mendoza to pick up the win. The designated hitter ripped a bases-clearing triple in the top of the ninth inning to put the Sanisalvos on top, 6-4. For the game, Mendoza had 1 triple and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
