Guabaleros Handed 4-2 Defeat
|
The Patillas Cuervos topped the Comerio Guabaleros, 4-2, in Liga Betances action at Campo Atletico de San Benito. The standout performance belonged to Patillas pitcher and Bayamón, Puerto Rico, native Rubén Meza. The Guabaleros, now 79-77, have lost 4 in a row.
Santiago Tinajero went 1 for 1 for Patillas. With one out and the game tied in the bottom of the seventh inning, Tinajero, who finished 4th in the LB in wins above replacement with 9.0 in 1902, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Comerio hurler Julio García, he hit a run-scoring single to give the Cuervos a 3-2 lead.
