Luquillo and Cidra got after it at Estadio Pedro González.

Luquillo pitcher Rubén Ruelas did his part in helping his team beat the Cidra Palomas, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters from doing too much damage. Ruelas got the win, improving to 18-17. He gave up 6 hits and walked 3 over 7.2 innings. He allowed 1 run.

Rubén Garza had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the sixth for Luquillo. He came through with a run-scoring double to put Luquillo in front, 2-0.

"The only difference is executing pitches and not executing pitches," said Ruelas. "When you don't execute, you get beat. When you execute, you usually give your team a chance to win."

Luquillo is now 92-69, while Cidra is 98-63.
