The Rio Grande Cotorras did just enough to secure a victory over the Yauco Corsos, 3-2, in 20 innings at Coliseo Aldo Gallardo. Nobody did more than pitcher Ezequiel Vásquez. The third-place Corsos now sit at 69-90.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Raúl Alzate? The 27-year old right fielder Alzate stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the 20th inning to put Rio Grande up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 8, including 1 double and 1 single.

"There's no quit in this team," said Cotorras manager Prisco Aguilera.
