Lobos Lose at Home, 2-0, to Lares

The Lares Fieles took on the Arecibo Lobos at Estadio Municipal de Arecibo.
Damián Medina, who finished 5th in the LB in innings pitched with 388.2 in 1905, never let the Lobos get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Fieles to a win, 2-0. Medina got the win, improving to 7-12. He gave up 3 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed no runs.
Sancho Salgado, who is tied for 4th in the LB in doubles with 32, had a direct impact on the outcome. Salgado contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the third inning to put Lares up, 2-0.
"We put some tough at-bats on some tough pitches," said Lares manager Mario Carrasco.
Lares's record now stands at 70-91, placing them third in the Liga Betances Cordillera Oeste.
