Macabeos Win in Extras, 4-3
|
Trujillo Alto Macabeos starter Pablo Peres was locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Yabucoa Dulceros, 4-3, in 10 innings. Trujillo Alto reliever Pedro Real picked up the win. Ryan Burrell took the loss for Yabucoa. With the win, Trujillo Alto goes to 81-81, while the Dulceros fall to 84-80.
Trujillo Alto used the timely hitting of Enda Sullivan to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Macabeos on top, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had a chance to win," said Yabucoa manager Cástico Beberra, "but we didn't get it done."
