Jayuya second baseman Arnulfo Varaza played a vital role in his team's 9-8 conquest of Barceloneta. He was 4-5 with a double and 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Jayuya. Jayuya reliever Adrián Muñoz picked up the win, upping his record to 4-2. Keegan Daly took the loss. Fernando Serafín earned the save, his 15th.

Jayuya used the timely hitting of Pedro Muñiz to capture the win. The designated hitter socked a grand slam home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Cerros ahead, 8-6. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"No time for posing," said Muñiz. "The next game will be here before you know it."

Jayuya is now 72-93. Barceloneta is 95-68.
