Matadioses Lose Contest, 7-3
|
The Isabela Quesiteros defeated the Anasco Matadioses, 7-3, at Estadio Noé Martínez. Isabela second baseman Pablo Jiménez had a superb performance. He was 4-5 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs. José Rico, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 2 runs on 8 hits, while walking 2 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 28-9. Isabela is in first place in the Liga Hostos Noroeste with a record of 115-50.
In the top of the second, Gualterio López delivered a clutch hit. With two gone and a runner on 3rd, the Isabela left fielder hit a run-scoring single, putting the Quesiteros in front, 7-3.
"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Jiménez.
