The San German Golondrinas got a strong performance from pitcher Fulgencio García, who stymied the Mayaguez offense en route to a win, 7-1, at Parque de las Golondrinas. García got the win, improving to 22-16. He gave up 6 hits and walked 1 over 9 innings. He allowed 1 run. The second-place Golondrinas now sit at 93-72.

With San German leading 1-0 in the bottom of the fourth, Agapito Flores hit a 2-run single off Mayaguez pitcher Fausto Souza. It put the Golondrinas ahead 3-0.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Flores told the San German Gazette. "It's as simple as that."
