Las Marias picked up a win at El Naranjal, bumping off the Maricao Cafeteros, 3-2. Pitcher Sebastián Henríquez was a major reason the Citricos emerged victorious. Leví Esparza, 7-4, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 3 hits in 1.2 innings. The Citricos improved to 100-69.
Had Eladio Tejeda not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Tejeda hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Citricos.
"Do what you're good at," said Las Marias manager Pedro Aquino. "That's all I ask of the team."
