Tumbabrazos Earn 3-2 Win Versus Poetas
|
Carolina pitcher Elliot Watson did his part in helping his team defeat the Toa Alta Poetas, 3-2. The opposition could never get too much going against the right-hander. The win was credited to Carl Gillen in relief. His record improves to 12-5. Heliodoro Paniagua took the loss. The Tumbabrazos now have a mark of 90-79.
With the game on the line, Vicente Torres came to bat in the bottom of the ninth. And the Carolina left fielder came through, cracking a run-scoring single off Heliodoro Paniagua, the Toa Alta pitcher.
"We couldn't have scripted it any better," Watson said in his postgame press conference.
