Hatillo Breaks Through for First Win in Serie Preliminar; Now Trails 2-1
The Hatillo Canarios got a strong game from starter Carlos Rodríguez, but it was some clutch hitting that ultimately delivered the win.

The Canarios took the 5-4 win over the Patillas Cuervos in Game 3 of the Serie Preliminar in a 9th inning walk-off. The win capped off a fine outing for the right-handed Rodríguez. Rodríguez threw 9.0 innings of 7-hit ball in the win, which allowed the Canarios to narrow their deficit to 1-2 in the best-of-5 series.

Pablo Ruiz was the walk-off hero for Hatillo. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Canarios shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.

"Our guys are never satisfied," said Hatillo manager Carmelo Torres.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coliseo Gerardo Buitrago in Hatillo.
