Patillas Wins Serie Preliminar
The championship aspirations of the Patillas Cuervos are still alive and well, while the Hatillo Canarios are left to wait until next year.

Patillas won the clinching game of the Serie Preliminar 2-1 over Hatillo at Coliseo Gerardo Buitrago, to win the series 3-1.

"You feel like a little kid again, celebrating something like this," said second baseman Balbino Hernández, who paced the Patillas offense and was named series MVP. "We take everything real seriously when we're on the field, but after a series is over you can finally relax a little bit."

Hernández claimed the MVP by racking up 5 hits for a .357 average, with a .400 on-base percentage. He had 0 home runs, 3 RBI and scored 3 runs.

The Patillas Cuervos don't know who they will face in the next round. They will play the winner of the Aguada Arzobispos - Camuy Murcielagos series. Camuy leads the series 2 games to 1. The Serie Eliminatoria schedule will be announced after the Serie Preliminar finishes.
