When the stakes were high, Orocobix Rosas raised his game to match.

The left-handed Rosas turned in a stellar performance in Game 3 of the Serie Preliminar, pitching a 9-inning, complete-game shutout to lead the Salinas Pescadores to victory. He allowed 7 hits and struck out 5. The win gave Salinas a 2-1 lead over the Rio Grande Cotorras in the best-of-5 series.

Noé Lepe, the Salinas third baseman, contributed a 2-run single in the bottom of the fifth inning to make the score 4-1, Pescadores. For the game, Lepe went 1 for 4, while adding 2 RBI.

"It's so much easier when you throw good pitches," said Rosas.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Coliseo Carlos Chávez in Salinas.
