Mayaguez Takes Serie Preliminar in Deciding Game
Mark one up for the Mayaguez Capitanes.

In the crucial final game, they put away the Utuado Arribenos 3-1 at Coliseo Miguel Flores to win the Serie Preliminar, 3-2 and advance to the Serie Eliminatoria.

Although his team came up short, Utuado's Rafael Camacho was named the series MVP, with many of the league media feeling the series would have been over much sooner if not for his contributions.

"Camacho did a lot to keep Utuado in it, no doubt about that," said Capitanes manager Alberto Contreras.

The Mayaguez Capitanes will play against the Corozal Mofongueros in the next round. Corozal won their series against the Yabucoa Dulceros 3 games to 0. The Serie Eliminatoria schedule will be announced after the Serie Preliminar finishes.
