The game between Beaumont and Galveston is in the books, despite a little rain.

Beaumont starter Manu Kavaliku pitched well against the Galveston Gulls at Gulls Field. The right-hander led his team to a win, 3-2. Francis Russell earned his 1st save in 1 tries.

Beaumont used a timely hit from Darío Morales to get the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to put the Alpinists ahead, 3-1. It might've been his only hit, but it did the trick.

"When this team comes together and plays the way we can, we can compete with anyone," said Morales. "I think we're going to keep proving that."

Their 67-54 record puts the Alpinists first in the Eastern Association Galveston Circuit.
