The Halifax Batteries beat the Moncton Magnets, 7-1, at Magnets Stadium. The Batteries got a fine performance from designated hitter Bill MacPherson, who was 2 for 3 with a home run, a triple, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4. The last-place Magnets have dropped 5 straight games.

With Halifax leading 2-1 in the top of the fifth, MacPherson hit a sinker from Santiago Sánchez for a bases-clearing triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Batteries ahead, 5-1.

"We just try to have good at-bats, whether we're winning, losing, or tied," said MacPherson.
