Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Burlington Lightermen and Rutland Quarrymen.

The Burlington Lightermen racked up a win at The Dock, bumping off the Rutland Quarrymen, 6-4. Facundo Garza, who started for Burlington, pitched effectively for his team. Burlington is in first place in the Northern New England Association Vermont Circuit with a record of 55-37.

In the bottom of the fifth, Burlington second baseman Stéphane Perez whacked a curveball to right-center for a 2-run double. His 34th double of the season put the Lightermen in front, 5-3.

"I'm just looking to see the ball, hit the ball," said Perez.
