The 6-4 Patillas win over Canovanas was due in large part to Balbino Hernández. The Cuervos second baseman went 2 for 4 with a triple. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Rubén Meza got the win, improving to 6-4. He pitched 8 innings, giving up 8 hits and 4 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 3. Cid González nailed down his 4th save.
Hernández made an early impact for Patillas when he stroked his 7th triple of the season. The 2-run triple, which came in the bottom of the second, put the Cuervos on top, 3-0.
Patillas manager Leonel Hernández commended his team for "doing what it takes to win."
With the win over Canovanas, the Cuervos improved to 29-17.
