Guardacostas Get Thrilling 2-1 Win
|
The Vega Baja Caneros wasted an inspired, 10.1-inning effort from starter Fernando Fontánez, falling, 2-1, to the Catano Guardacostas in 11 innings at Estadio Getulio Moreno. The third-place Guardacostas have a record of 21-24.
The Guardacostas got a clutch hit from first baseman Atanasio Peña. In the bottom of the 11th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the Guardacostas.
"That last inning was electric," Peña said.
